The Last Lecture

If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share? If I could share a few things that were most important to me from this course it would be the following. First of all in order to be a successful entrepreneur we must follow our passion. I will never forget the video clip where we were asked the question, "What are you during the day when the time seems to race by?' The next statement was, "Go follow that!" When we follow our passion we will get the most out of life. It doesn't come without hard days but it will be the best path. I've also learned to do what makes me happy rather than something that makes me rich. If I achieve both then I need to consider that bonus but the number one priority is to be happy in my job. I know this will not be every minute of every day but for the most part, I need to find joy in working in order to succeed. I have also learned that balance is key w...

12/08/17 Week 13

I am nearing the end of the semester and I have learned so much! People often ask me why I'm studying business when I already have a successful business. I always tell them that I love learning. As I have gone through the past semester I have learned so much that I can use to enhance my business. I didn't really think I would learn as much as I did in a 100 level class but BYU Idaho has great learning models. I also love how the gospel is always weaved into the study material. The talk this week by President Monson was fantastic. It really made me stop to think about what I am grateful for. I am so blessed to have a wonderful family that supports me in my business. I am also thankful for wonderful mentors that have helped me along the way. I can remember learning things I am using now all the way back in elementary school. Here is the link for the talk for future reference. An Attitude of Gratitude https://www.lds.org/general-conference/1992/04/an-attitude-of-gratitude?lang...

12/02/17 Week 12

This week it was fun to hear about Sarah Endline who has a candy company. She truly took something she loved and turned it into a business. I have done that to some extent with my preschool. I enjoy teaching and I'm able to do it out of my own home while I raise my kids. The only thing that made my eyebrows raise is that she said she needed to do it 24/7. That's intense!! Here's the video for future reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg220urP8P8&list=PL5_uEkasxxd2ZsEXvoaqZRuagYkkUctrD&index=19 I also enjoyed Elder Holland's talk. I love how the gospel is interwoven into all of my studies. That is the greatest part of attending a "church" school. It is so true that we must always give back. No matter what our circumstances we can always give. If not our money, then our time. I love this quote about President Monson. It's so true! I think he will always be known for his service to the widows. "More than any man I know, President Mon...
