11/22/17 Week 11

The material for this week has really made me think. I guessing mostly because there's really no right or wrong answers to the questions that have come up. It's all about personal preference. I know what I want out of life and what my answers could be to most of the questions as they pertain to my life in the business world but they may not be the same as the person sitting next to me.  The biggest thing I got out of the week was that I need to be prepared ahead time with my answers when it comes to balance in my life. Balance with my family and work life. This is one of the main reasons why I have a business in my home. I wanted to be able to work and raise my children. It's been a sacrifice at times but it works for our family and I get to do both.  I also have to continue to think ahead when it comes to moral questions and situations. What am I personally going to do in certain situations? How am I going to react when money is on the line? Do I choose money or time? D...

11/15/17 Week 10

Lots of good info this week. I really enjoyed the videos. Kathy Huber is amazing! She worked so hard and was extremely successful. She's had to push against the odds and she's done a fabulous job at it. For future reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oof1xHrCrHM&list=PL5_uEkasxxd2ZsEXvoaqZRuagYkkUctrD&index=32 One thing I've learned a lot about during this course is something that's been repeated many times. The word PASSION. We must be passionate about what we are doing in order to succeed as an entrepreneur. If we are not passionate about what we are doing we will never achieve the greatness we would. We need to always be thinking, "Is this for me?"  Another thing I've learned is about BALANCE. There must be balance in the life of an entrepreneur. It seems very easy for work to take over. It can run our lives if we let it, especially with a new business. We need to make time for the things that matter most in our life. It's great ...

11/03/17 Week 8

This week has been interesting. It was nice to take a look at the "harder part of the business". What do we do when things are not going as planned? How do we keep pressing forward when it seems the odds are against us? How do we fix the problem? I really enjoyed the videos and readings for the week. I love that as a student at BYU Idaho there is so much of the gospel integrated into the courses.  President Monson's talk was very insightful. He gives direction, council, and hope. I will refer to this talk often in the future. Looking Back and Moving Forward https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2008/04/looking-back-and-moving-forward?lang=eng I also enjoyed Elder Holland's talk. It was a bit long but had some good stuff. I learned to never give up! Never! Even when it seems things are never going to work out. This is a great piece of advice for anyone in the business world. There will be hard days. ALWAYS! But that is never a reason to jump ship. However Long a...
