11/22/17 Week 11
The material for this week has really made me think. I guessing mostly because there's really no right or wrong answers to the questions that have come up. It's all about personal preference. I know what I want out of life and what my answers could be to most of the questions as they pertain to my life in the business world but they may not be the same as the person sitting next to me.
The biggest thing I got out of the week was that I need to be prepared ahead time with my answers when it comes to balance in my life. Balance with my family and work life. This is one of the main reasons why I have a business in my home. I wanted to be able to work and raise my children. It's been a sacrifice at times but it works for our family and I get to do both.
I also have to continue to think ahead when it comes to moral questions and situations. What am I personally going to do in certain situations? How am I going to react when money is on the line? Do I choose money or time? Do I choose money or freedoms? Do I choose money or family? I need to think about these questions and find the answers (the best I can) far in advance.
These are the answers to the questions this week:
1.What is your attitude toward money? Well, we all know we can't live without it. It makes life possible and the more we have the easier it is to provide for ourselves and for our families, to an extent. I think as you make more money there are always tough decisions to make. I remember being in college and thinking I couldn't wait to be out in the "real world" where I didn't have to scrape pennies to buy a gallon of milk. Now that I'm twenty-one plus years into my marriage and eighteen plus years into my career, on occasion, those simple days seem enticing.
2.How can your view of money affect the way you live? Those who always striving to gain more money can lose out on some valuable moments in life. Moments that money cannot ever buy. My children were just part of a production of Scrooge the Musical. This is an excellent example of someone who lost a lot due to his attitude about money. In the end, he straightened out his priorities and his life ended up being a lot happier.
3.What rules are recommended for prospering? I like President Monson's rules for prospering. Fill your mind with truth. Fill your life with service. Fill your heart with love. If I can follow this formula I know I will have a successful and fulfilling life.
